Welcome anything that comes to you, but do not long for anything else
~ Andre Gide
I’m excited to bring you on a behind the scenes tour of Original Works over the next few weeks. With our Fall Season upon us, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share what fall means to us, here at our production facility.
This summer many of our Production and Marketing folks were busy testing several New Products, and also preparing to launch our new Gallery Program.
While our production and marketing teams were hard at work, our Sales staff was focused on building our fall season. I am proud to say that we have a very talented team of inside sales representatives that work here in our corporate office, as well as a seasoned group of independent sales representatives who work in the field.
Front: Kelly Gallo. Jane Badger.
Back: Donna Thomas. Marcia Parker. Chris Whitcher.
These ladies, along with all of our Independent Sales Representatives, have been working diligently to confirm programs and ensure that everyone has a spot on our production calendar and receives their keepsake products in time for the holiday season.
Once we confirm a program with a school, we send them a supply box, which contains free art paper, lesson plans, posters, and other supplies necessary to run the program. Needless to say, the last two months have been extremely busy for our Sales Support team, as they prepare, pack and ship thousands of supply boxes to schools around the country.
Now that it is early November, artwork and orders are arriving at a very brisk pace. The first stop for the new arrivals is our Receiving Department, where it is almost a daily chore to unbury Joyce from the boxes of artwork that surround her. When the artwork arrives, Joyce has an essential role in the process. Not only does she get to climb over the mountains of boxes, she also opens and checks each shipment. Joyce looks for such items as correct information on the shipping forms, verifies the orders, enters receiving information in our computer system and then prepares the school for processing. If any issues arise, she notifies our Customer Service department immediately, so as not to hold up the ordering process.
We hope you will come back next week when I will introduce you to more of our staff, and visit a few of our other departments to see what is happening there!
